Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gave this a try, but was very disappointed So I gave this a try on my bedroom carpet. There was never any left in stains when my puppy peed a couple times on my rug. I was always there to immediately clean it up and use an enzyme cleaner, but I wanted to use this carpet shampoo to give a thorough cleaning of the entire carpet. I used half a bottle mixed with warm water and did 3 full applications of cleaning. I let the room dry overnight with the windows open and fan on high speed. The next morning the room smelled odd. I think it's the cleaner. While I don't smell urine, I do smell an odd scent that I can't describe. I have never used a carpet shampoo cleaner that smelled like this after 3 full cleaning applications. Suffice it to say, I tried to give this product a try because I like ther Nature's Miracle products I've used like their dog shampoo. I won't use this shampoo cleaner again. Carpet shampoo should not smell odd as it's drying. It almost has a musky scent. I will have to use another product to get the smell out. I am very disappointed and cannot recommend this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No longer any good I used to use Nature's Miracle stain and oroder remover products a lot to remove pet mistakes. But after the company became part of Spectrum, products greatly changed for the worse. The products, for example, had simple, safe ingredients: Water, Enzymes, Surfactant, Isopropyl Alcohol, and Natural Citrus Scent. Now, the Citrus Fragrance is no longer Natural, and unidentified Preservative and Odor Counteractant have been added. All the different products I've bought in the last year have been unusable because of the powerful, harsh industrial fragrances Spectrum is now using, which are worse than the odors they are supposed to remove. Artifical Fragrance is considered by scientists to be a long-surviving chemical allergan, carcinogen, and respiratory irritant. And many people find their strong scents objectionable, like me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work at all...just bad directions? Bottle says to use according to machine directions. Machine says to dilute according to directi ons on bottle. For most carp et sham poos, that's about 2 ounces of cleaner. I went ahead and used three of them, added three ounces to hot water, and cleaned. Let the carpet dry . . . It smelled. Definitely better, but still cat pe e. I did it again, adding twice the normal recommended amount; 6 ounces in 3 / 4 gal lon. Went over the carpet again, let it dry . . . It helped but the smell is still there. So, was I N O T supposed to dilute it? The bo ttle does not say "Do not dilute" N O R does it say "Di lute ? amount". Ma chine directions = see bottle . . . . I'll be bu ying something else from now on. Oh, and apparen tly a negative review gets marked "profanity." Let's keep editing this and see if it'll work. That's why there's weird spacing; blocking negative reviews, maybe?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No longer works I've been buying this product for years. If I remember correctly it started out as a Laundry/Carpet soap combo. First used it when we were moving out of an apartment where we had several ferrets and two dogs. Worked so well that we got our deposit back. I've purchased this multiple times over the years for when the dogs or cats had accidents and it seemed to work. Recently we moved into a new home and one male cat has peed on two of the carpets. I used the Nature's Miracle Urine Destroyer on both carpets and then cleaned the carpets later using the Carpet Shampoo. Neither product worked. In fact even though we don't allow the cat in our bedroom now the smell persists. Cat then peed on a blanket, I used the Urine Destroyer on it and it still smelled. I then washed it adding in the Carpet Shampoo to the wash with no other soap and it took two washes to get the smell out. I've now washed it a 3rd time with regular laundry soap since I know that the odor is gone. I've been a very loyal customer for 16 years. I'm so disappointed in the quality of your products now that I am looking for a new brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW!! So, I used it for the first time today with my Hoover steam clean machine. This product got out urine stains from my puppy that I didn't even know where there. At first when the carpet was yellow, I thought the product had done did, it got out old urine stains. I have to clean the area one more time to get it all up. The rest of my carpet looks great. This is the only thing I will use to clean my carpets...and boy do my carpets need to be cleaned every week. I have an old dog, young dog and several cats.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does Not Work. Used in my Hoover Steam Vac as per Hoover's instructions. Used cool water rather than hot, as I did not wish to "set" the stains. Works as a carpet cleaner, but does not remove urine smell. Carpet is dry. Urine smell remains. Can anyone recommend a product that actually works?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too many applications needed to make a difference We had some issues with one kitty using a corner of the living room as a litter box. I bought the cleaner spray and it worked, but the problem continued. Incentives we fixed our pets problem, I purchased this carpet shampoo to clean one last time. I had to use half of the bottle over multiple shampooing for a 4x4 space. Finally gave up and used a different product that worked with the first application. Might try other products but never this again.

Can I use this product without a machine the people at petco said yes and if so what's the best way to do so I have a long bristle brush.

Asked by: Maura2
Hi Maura! We don't recommend using this without a machine. It would be better to use our standard stain & odor remover, urine destroyer or advanced formula's. We are always happy to help you find the best product for your situation. Feel welcome to call 1-800-645-5154 for a personalized recommendation.

There is no directions on the bottle to tell me how to mix the shampoo and water ratio?

Asked by: Channon
Hi Channon! Since this product is meant to be used with a carpet machine you should follow the machine directions using the fill line or formula cup. If there are no directions then dilute 6 oz of carpet shampoo in one gallon of water. We hope this helps!
